I gained a ton of new friends. Sure, many of them were people I knew before, but I've gotten closer to them in the past year and am able to actually call them friends now. And they are all wonderful.
I've realized my identity, and become comfortable with myself. Perhaps that's where the new friends came from. For the first time in my life, I've made an effort to not change myself to try to gain someone's approval, but to just be who I want to be. And I'm finally embracing that, and that I'll continue to change and grow, and that's okay too.
Martini nights are now on Mondays. Poker nights are now on Fridays. And in the upcoming year, Writing nights will be on Tuesdays (every other week, anyway). This is awesome. That is all.
I published Brains for the Zombie Soul, started A Cup of Serendipity, am writing for Into-The-Dark, and wrote two novellas for NaNoWriMo. I feel like I'm finally earning the title of "writer."
There are so many plans for 2013 too. I'll be at both HorrorHound Weekends. I'm planning to put some previous work together with a couple new pieces for a book of short stories. I've also got some plans in the works for an audiobook of zombie fairy tales. Of course, more info on that to come.
Here's to a fabulous 2013 from an annoying optimist. ;)
