The laundry list of my life:
Brian, my DH ("darling husband" at least most of the time), is still on the job hunt. Honestly, I like him home, I just wish we could afford him to be a house-husband.
Even though the money would be nice, I've decided not to work at the tax office this year. Instead, I'm editing and publishing the book I wrote for NaNoWriMo last year, to sell at HorrorHound Weekend in Indy.
Work (I'm a graphic designer plus some customer service/sales) has been busy, which is good, but it's stressing me out a bit.
Brian's friend, Clint, is staying with us for a few weeks. I like Clint, he's a good guy, hardworking and very trustworthy. I'm just not used to having someone else in the house. It's working out just fine, it's just part of the snowglobe.
So, I wouldn't call things bad, just different. I'm just hoping all this glitter is settling down, and that we're not still being shaken.
At any rate, last weekend was pretty good. On Saturday, Brian and Clint played paintball while I ran errands. Old Navy was having a sale of half off all clearance prices, and in addition, if you donated pet food, you got 15% off of your whole order. I got a dress and a shirt for under $10! The dress is absolutely cute. It's black (of course, I nearly always wear black), and a linen type material. It has 3/4 length sleeves, and comes just over my knees. It has a bit of a bohemian type look, which I think suits me well. Brian loves it.
Brian and I went on a short date Saturday night. We used up our last candle, and we love the soy candles they sell at Twisted Wick in Nashville. Brian's also working on his scrapbook, and wants clear pockets to put some memorabilia in. So we thought we'd hit the candle place and the scrapbook shop in Brown County, then go to Hob Nob Corner for dinner. But it's the off season, so both the candle place and the scrapbooking place were closed. Dinner was good though, and our waitress was excellent and fun.
Sunday, I went to a tai chi sword form workshop. I haven't done sword form in forever, and it's probably the hardest one for me to catch on to. I hope we do a lot of sword form in the next session.
I know I've been dreaming a lot too, although comprehensively remembering them has been hard. Here's the bits I remember:
I was on business in Thailand or Hong Kong. My parents happened to be vacationing there at the same time. They got the cheapest hotel possible, so their room ended up being a cave, more like a dirt hole, that they barely had room to lay down in. There was a common room in their hotel, so when I went to spend some time with them, we played cards there. Their hotel also gave them coupons and flyers for local attractions.
After we finished our card game, we decided to go out. One of the coupons were for a game center, so that's what I suggested. Instead, they wanted to go to a chain restaurant. I was disappointed, because I wanted to experience something local.
I didn't know my way around, but they did, so I tried to follow them there. But I lost them by a Home Depot. So I thought I'd stop inside to go to the bathroom, then call them to find out where they were at. When I tried to pull into a parking lot, there was an ambulance there, so I had to drive through the grass to get around it. I hoped it was legal, and if not, I planned to plead foreigner.
In another dream, there was some blogging seminar that I got free tickets to. I got 5 tickets, thinking it would be Brian and I and Noah and Sue (that adds up to 5 in my dreamworld). Brian wasn't ready to go, and Noah and Sue said they decided they weren't interested, so I went early to score us a table with some seats.
There was something about eating dinner at a restaurant in there too.
Then I went up to our apartment, and it was all cleaned out and very white because Brian was doing laundry. I helped him take the white bags full of laundry down to the laundry room, and there was a girl there that was helping us too.
We saw Brian and Lindsey going to the pool, and I convinced them to come to the seminar because there would be a pool there. But when we got there, we had just missed the swimming part, and everyone was getting out of the pool. We sat on the floor at the bottom of the seating, and Brian curled up in blankets and went to sleep. Mr. Wizard was supposed to speak, but the whole thing ended up being a documentary on a big screen with him doing just a little bit of narration. I was disappointed. But a cat came out of the screen and snuggled up to Brian and they slept together.
