NaNoWriMo 2009 - I need your support!

I'm doing it again.

National Novel Writing Month is a global writing challenge in which participants spend November (and portions of our sanity!) writing a 50,000-word book in just 30 days.

Last year I won by writing Sweet Addiction, a novel about a chocoholic in a time where chocolate is illegal. I'm quite proud of it. I'm (still) working on editing it, and I plan to send it out to a few publishers someday.

Since before November even ended last year, ideas for books have been floating around in my head. This year I decided I wanted to write something fun, that'll probably just post as a free e-book on my blog. So I've finally decided on a mystery/thriller vampire story, including kidnapping, murder, and black market blood trading. I don't have a title yet, so if you have any ideas for a title, please let me know!

Like last year, in addition to my writerly duties, I'm also raising money to help the Office of Letters and Light continue to put on free creative writing programs for kids and adults in classrooms, communities, and libraries around the world. Of particular interest to me is the Young Writer's Program, which provides kids and teens with a month-long language arts experience that improves self-esteem, teaches perseverance, and radically alters their relationship to writing and literature.

Please consider sponsoring me by donating to my NaNoWriMo fundraising page.

I'm looking for not only financial sponsors, but also emotional sponsors. Even if you can't donate, leave me a comment, tweet me, or send me some sort of message of inspiration in November.

Thank you so much for your support of my writing!

I'm doing NaNoWriMo, too! This will be my fourth year, I think (it's so hard to keep track). I'm super excited and can't wait to start!

I posted some tips over at my blog if you're interested. I've been doing a lot of pre-writing and I am just super excited to get started.

I wish you tons of luck and hope to see you at the finish line!

I'm inspired by NaNoWriMo each year! This year, my story will take me longer than a month to write, but I don't care if I finish on time. It's still fun!
